Shelter In Need Of Washer & Dryer
While Jeff was talking with a shelter in Louisiana, asking them what they needed, the church which was turned into a triage center from Tulane stated they needed a washer and dryer. They said that they get such a high turnover of new patients, they needed a way to get clean, fresh linens on the beds and clean hospital gowns for these new people.
So, with your help, Jeff told them not to worry. He immediately wen to Sears, haggled with the saleman a bit and was able to pick up a really nice washer and dryer set for about $800 or so. Plus, Jeff gave them a large amount of washing detergent to get them underway.
Talk about an amazing opportunity to help these people. We have the ability to get these shelters EXACTLY what they need, when they need it. And, these shelters owe all their thanks to you guys for helping us be able to do these kinds of things for them using your donations.
Here are some pictures from what Jeff is doing in Louisiana, and a picture of the new washer and dryer he just delivered today.
Also, Jeff was talking with another shelter and asked them what THEY need. They said they had plenty of bottled water and food, but what they really needed was school supplies. The kids that were transferred to these shelters will probably be there a while, and they will be enrolling them in school there, so the shelters need school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, etc.
So, what did Jeff do? Yep, off to the store he went and came back with over $300 worth of school supplies for these kids.
We are able to help these shelters in ways we didn't even know about and ways that NOBODY else is helping them with.
For those of you who are sending me emails telling me what a joke it is we are doing and how we are wasting our time and that we should just "give up", take a look at what we are doing for these poor people. No, we haven't raised multi-millions of dollars, but the money we have raised is doing some amazing things that no charity group could even attempt to do.
